The menu is just Omakase, which cost $450 per person, not including drinks, tax or tip. To get there, you must do a reservation because there are only 26 available seats. The Chef, is Masa Takayama. He will welcome you, as he does to every guest who enters the restaurant and he is the one who prepares the menu, including seasonal ingredients. Because there is no menu, Chef Masa keeps a record of what he has served to his customers.
2.Argawa , Tokyo – $368
Aragawa is certainly not known for its decor. As a restaurant located in Tokyo, some might even claim that this restaurant is humble: there’s certainly no grand entrance with valet parking. Actually, there is no entrance. I would claim, however, that this only increases the restaurant’s pretense.
There is no menu. The waiter will simply recite the chef’s selections for the day and you would be ask to choose two seafood plates from five that are available. Like an exclusive club, the restaurant’s location suggests that only a few are lucky enough to know about what Forbes magazine called in 2006 the most expensive restaurant in the world. But prices aside, this basement retreat is known for something else: the fattiest, juiciest, and most tender Kobe beef in the world. Aragawa’s steak will make a vegetarian renounce his beliefs.
3.Ithaa, Maldives – $300
There is no question why it will cost you $300 just to dine in a place like this. Why ? Because look at it. It is situated five meters below the sea level. The ceiling are made of thick glass so you can watch the graceful sea creatures floating around you, while you’re eating.
The restaurant only has 14 seats, so be sure to get a reservation. Try specialties in seafood and Western cuisine with their local touch. Don’t be surprise when you will see sharks, schools of fish and rays swimming around you.
4. French Laundry, NapaValley – $270
The Chef, the famous Thomas Keller use only the finest ingredients which are mostly exported from various countries across the globe. Their menu includes pearls and oysters. You need to reserve two months in advance to get a table, but the exquisite ingredients and the food will make the wait worth.
5. Solo per due, Umbria – $250
Do you want privacy for you and your partner ? Yes, this is what you need. A perfect place, for the romantic date that you always wanted. Even the name says it : “It’s only for two.” The atmosphere inside of this restaurant is reflective of 19th century appeal.
You can take your time eating because the waiters will not be bothering you that much; they will wait for you to ring a silver bell before showing up.You will have the true fine dining experience.
